This is what Victoria Beckham’s strict daily diet looks like

A fixed and highly restrictive diet may seem extreme to many. Yet Victoria Beckham has eaten almost the same foods for 25 years.

Victoria Beckham lives with polycystic ovary syndrome, also known as PCOS.

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, research shows that people with PCOS often exhibit signs of inflammation in the body, which can increase the risk of heart disease.

Limiting sugar and processed foods is recommended to help reduce symptoms.

Seen in this light, her strict diet may be a deliberate choice to keep the condition under control.

Health Digest writes that her diet resembles the Mediterranean diet in several ways, though with fewer carbohydrates and only limited use of oils.

The same food

On the River Table Cafe podcast, it was revealed that Victoria Beckham has eaten the same type of food for around 25 years.

According to Health Digest, her meals consist mainly of fish, vegetables, nuts, and avocado.

Carbohydrates such as bread, rice, and pasta play only a minor role in her daily diet.

In an interview with Net-a-Porter, she explained that she starts her day with apple cider vinegar, warm water with lemon, and coffee before exercising.

Health Digest refers to studies suggesting that apple cider vinegar may have an impact on satiety and digestion.

Not for everyone

Strict diet plans can be difficult to maintain in the long term. Health Digest notes that very limited choices may lead to a sense of deprivation.

A writer from Hello Magazine tested the diet for a week. The result was increased hunger in the evening, until more carbohydrates such as rice or potatoes were added.
