Sea moss – also known as Irish moss – has taken over social media feeds, promoted as a natural cure-all.
Touted benefits include improved gut health, radiant skin, immune support, and even better metabolism.
Marketed in gels, powders, capsules, and gummies, it’s become a $2.18 billion industry – and still growing.
But what many people don’t realize is that the highly processed forms found in supplements are far removed from the raw, ocean-harvested seaweed.

Experts warn that these processed versions often lose the beneficial fibers and nutrients that make sea moss appealing in the first place.

Even healthy users should approach sea moss with caution due to the lack of regulation in the supplement industry.
