Many people simply rinse their face with water in the morning, but is that enough?

Most people spend more time on their skincare routine in the evening and only rinse their face with water in the morning. However, the skin remains active while we sleep.

According to dermatologists, the skin continues to produce oil and sweat throughout the night.

At the same time, dead skin cells accumulate, and traces of skincare products can remain on the skin.

This can make it more difficult for your morning skincare products to work as effectively as possible.

Be careful not to over-cleanse

Washing your face too frequently or using harsh cleansing products can damage the skin's natural protective barrier. This can lead to dryness, redness, and irritation.

Dermatologists also point out that, in some cases, the skin may begin producing more oil if it is cleansed too often.

As a result, acne and blemishes may worsen rather than improve.

There is no one-size-fits-all solution

Dermatologists recommend cleansing your face in the evening to remove sunscreen, makeup, excess oil, and dirt that has built up throughout the day.

This also helps any skincare products applied afterward work more effectively.

When it comes to cleansing in the morning, however, there is no single rule that suits everyone.

People with oily or combination skin, or those who sweat heavily during the night, may benefit from using a gentle facial cleanser.

On the other hand, people with dry, sensitive, or eczema-prone skin may find that lukewarm water or a very gentle cleansing cream is sufficient.
