Many of us were never taught to appreciate ourselves or show love and compassion toward ourselves.

We often focus on our flaws and negative traits, which can lead to low self-esteem and feelings of inadequacy.

But you can change this mindset and learn to embrace yourself with the same care and kindness you would show a close friend.

1. Work With Your Inner Critic

Your inner critic has a purpose—it tries to protect you. Instead of fighting against it, learn to work with it. Recognize that your thoughts and emotions do not define you. You deserve to live a meaningful life, which starts by aligning your actions with your core values.
