This simple home treatment is cheap, easy to prepare and is said to improve dry and rough skin on the feet.

Feet carry body weight all day and are often exposed to pressure and friction.

Because of this, the skin can become thick, dry and cracked, especially on the heels.

Wearing closed shoes may also create moisture that can lead to bad smells and fungal problems.

Tupi explains that regular exfoliation may help remove dead skin and improve skin softness.

How the treatment works

The mixture is made with sugar and lemon juice. Sugar works as a natural scrub that removes dead skin cells.

Lemon is linked to cleaning effects and may help reduce dark areas on the skin.

The article recommends soaking the feet in warm water for about 10 minutes before applying the mixture.

The scrub should be used gently on the heels and toes, followed by rinsing and moisturizing.

People with sensitive skin are advised to use finer sugar because it is less rough.

Tupi also states that people with diabetes should speak with a doctor before trying exfoliating treatments on their feet.

Best time to use it

According to the report, nighttime is considered the safest and most effective moment for the treatment.

After exfoliating, many people apply moisturizer and wear socks while sleeping to help the skin stay soft.

Tupi points out an important warning. Lemon can react badly with sunlight and may cause marks or discoloration on the skin.
