She said that, in some cases, the condition can resemble mental health issues or a midlife crisis.
This can make it more difficult to receive the correct diagnosis quickly.

Many people associate dementia with memory loss, but that is not always the case.

Emma Heming Willis has explained that there are different forms of frontotemporal dementia.
According to the NHS, the disease can affect behaviour, language, or the ability to plan and concentrate.

The first sign
Bruce Willis ended his acting career in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia.

The following year, his family announced that he had frontotemporal dementia.
Before the diagnosis, his wife noticed a change in the way he spoke. According to her, a previous speech problem began to return.
Those changes in language later proved to be among the earliest signs of the illness that Bruce Willis is living with today.
