X2 is located at the Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in California and is known for its high speeds, a drop of around 60 meters and seats that rotate during the ride.
According to CNN, there have been several incidents over the past 20 years in which people were hospitalized after riding the roller coaster, reports LADBible.
Six Flags has not yet officially commented on the allegations. The park has also not explained why X2 is currently closed.
More people take legal action
Attorney Christopher Bulone announced on September 22 that three people would file lawsuits against Six Flags. All three claim they suffered serious brain injuries after riding X2.

One of them is Michael Wilk from Los Angeles. According to CNN, he believes a ride in February caused a brain hemorrhage.
He subsequently underwent several surgeries and says his injuries mean he is no longer able to work as an attorney.
Naomi Greer Wilkinson has also filed a lawsuit. According to her account, she collapsed after riding X2.
At the hospital, she was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage and required emergency surgery before being placed in a medically induced coma.

Many more come forward
The three lawsuits are only part of the case.
According to CNN, attorneys say they now represent more than 100 people who claim to have suffered brain injuries after riding X2 within the past two years.
The roller coaster remains closed, while Six Flags has yet to officially respond to the allegations.
