Martha Stewart follows one simple principle every day. According to her, it plays an important role in maintaining a long and healthy life.

The debate about healthy aging is gaining increasing attention. Researchers point out that daily movement and time spent in nature can affect the heart, sleep, and mental balance.

Cardiologist Eric Topol describes in his book on so-called super-agers how people who grow older while maintaining good health often share one common trait: they spend a great deal of time outdoors.

The same point appears in an interview with lifestyle icon Martha Stewart, published in PureWow on December 17, 2025.

A firm rule

In the interview, Martha Stewart says she has one rule she never breaks: she goes outside every day.

This applies even if she returns home late after a workday in New York.

She walks around her gardens, checks on her animals, and gets fresh air. According to PureWow, this takes place on her large estate.

For Stewart, it is a fixed part of her daily routine and not something she skips.

More than gardening

The conversation with PureWow took place in connection with her role as an adviser to the gardening company Miracle-Gro. As a result, she also spoke about the importance of gardening.
