Kai Trump says getting back in shape came down to simple choices, not complicated plans.

Building strength after an injury is rarely about chasing quick results. Sports scientists have long pointed to consistency, balanced nutrition and regular exercise as the most effective combination for improving both physical performance and overall wellbeing.

According to Fox News, those principles became the foundation of Kai Trump's recovery after she was forced away from golf earlier this year.

The 19-year-old, who is set to join the University of Miami as a Division I golfer, spent months away from competition after undergoing wrist surgery in January.

Rather than seeing the break as a setback, she used the time to focus on rebuilding her fitness before returning to the course.

A simple approach

According to Fox News, Kai relied on a straightforward nutrition plan instead of restrictive fitness trends. Her daily routine centered on consuming around 150 grams of protein while avoiding gluten and dairy.

The meals she returned to most often were uncomplicated:

  • Steak
  • Chicken with rice

Combined with regular strength training and golf practice, those habits became the foundation of her fitness transformation.

More than fitness

Her focus was not solely on improving her physique. Kai has explained that staying active also plays an important role in her mental wellbeing, helping her clear her mind whether she's lifting weights or doing light cardio.

Research from organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine supports the connection between regular exercise, improved mental health and athletic performance, particularly during injury recovery.

Eyes on college golf

Kai has already produced several strong performances in junior golf and is now preparing for the next chapter of her career at the University of Miami.

Although she comes from one of America's most well-known political families, she has made it clear that her ambitions remain firmly focused on sport rather than politics.
